Abundant Living | January 2020

Hello & Happy New Year Friends!

Not only is it the beginning of a New Year – it’s also the beginning of a New Decade and I could not be more excited! After much thought & prayer, I finally have my word for 2020 … Abundance!

The definition of abundance is the state or condition of having a copious quantity of something; plentifulness.

I just love that definition! You see, for too many years of my life I focused on scarcity – all of the things I DIDN’T have in my life. For too many years I have focused on the wrong things.

Many of you have sent me messages telling me how encouraging and positive I am. Truth be told, I was not always this way. It has taken many years and a lot of work to cultivate a positive mindset … a lot of work. And, I still have a long way to go!

THIS year I choose to focus on abundance. What does that mean? In its simplest form, I choose to focus on what I have instead of what I don’t have. I choose to have gratitude for EVERYTHING and everyone in my life even if I’m not exactly where I want to be personally or professionally because truly there is SO much for all of us to be grateful for!

It reminds me of an old adage that says, “I used to feel sorry for myself because I had no shoes until I met the man who had no feet.” There is always someone in worse situations than me and there is also so much to be grateful for in whatever current situation I find myself in.

I choose to focus on the people who want to work with me and benefit from my gifts and love instead of focusing on those who don’t see my value or who don’t choose to make time for me. I choose to focus on the family who wants to know me and chooses to spend time with me instead of focusing on the family who doesn’t. I choose to focus on and look for the good in people instead of focusing on the negative. I choose to see the good in others because, truly, everyone we meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about. I choose to be kind and to have gratitude because there is enough negativity in the world. With that said, I’d like to leave you with a set of affirmations that my son, Samuel, and I repeat to each other nearly every day.

I expect great things to happen today! I trust in God’s plan for my life. I accept all of the love, joy, and abundance in my life! I accept all of the people who want to work with me (and play with me – added for Samuel) and benefit from my gifts and love. Every day and in every way I’m getting stronger, healthier and so much better!
I believe in me, I believe in you, and I believe in Daddy!

Here’s to a New Year and a New Decade of ABUNDANCE for us all!! With abundant gratitude,

Rica
