Dear Friends,
Have you ever heard a song on the radio repeatedly and, one day, all of a sudden, you actually hear the lyrics and it completely resonates with you? That happened to me with a song called “Relate” by King & Country.
The precarious times we’re living in have led to so much fear, anxiety, hate, and division. Everyday we’re bombarded with news that leaves us feeling disheartened, fearful, and for me, a little numb.
The media constantly reminds us of our shortcomings and our differences and, in so many ways, creates divisiveness. It’s all upsetting and frustrating and it takes all of my energy to remain positive and focus on the good in the world.
There truly is good in this world. Have we forgotten?
King & Country reminds us in this song that….
I don’t know what it’s like to be you. You don’t know what it’s like to be me. What if we’re all the same in different kinds of ways. Can you, can you relate? We both know what it’s like to be hurt. We both know what it’s like to feel pain. But I think it’s safe to say we’re on to better days. Can you, can you relate?
This song is a welcome reminder that we’re all struggling and we don’t know what each of us is going through yet. We can be encouraged to know and be reminded that we’re all the same in different kinds of ways – let’s find ways to relate instead of hate.
I hope this song blesses you and, by the grace of God, we’ll see each other’s heart.
Humbly yours,
Rica
