Lend-A-Hand Day Returns to Danville This April

Lend-A-Hand Day Returns to Danville This April

The Town of Danville is calling on community members to participate in the 19th annual Lend-A-Hand Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This cherished event offers volunteers the opportunity to assist senior residents with essential yard work tasks such as raking, mowing, trimming, and gutter cleaning. danville.ca.gov

Each year, over 100 volunteers come together to enhance the beauty of local neighborhoods by supporting homeowners who may find it challenging to maintain their yards. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, from teens aged 13 and older (with adult supervision) to seniors themselves. No prior yard work experience is necessary. While pre-registration is encouraged to help organizers plan effectively, walk-in volunteers are also welcome on the day of the event.

On the morning of the event, participants will convene at the Danville Senior Center, located at 115 East Prospect Avenue, to collect tools and receive their assignments. Tasks are allocated based on assessments conducted by Town staff to ensure appropriate matching of volunteers to projects.

Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to create a volunteer profile and sign up in advance by visiting the Town of Danville's volunteer page. For additional information, please contact Recreation Superintendent Jessica Wallner at (925) 314-3426 or via email at [email protected]. docs.danville.ca.gov
